Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a love of literature and writing among students, developing engaging curricula, and supporting students' academic growth. This role requires a strong foundation in English language arts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, and classroom management is highly valued. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to implement innovative teaching strategies that promote literacy, critical thinking, and creativity across diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives. Develop engaging instructional materials that incorporate learning technology and creative writing techniques. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations. Provide individualized support through tutoring and mentoring to help students achieve their academic goals. Foster a positive classroom environment with effective behavior management and classroom management strategies. Utilize research skills to integrate current educational practices and library services into lesson planning. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school initiatives such as literacy education and special education programs. Support students' social-emotional development through mentorship and guidance. Engage in ongoing professional development related to education administration, Montessori methods, or other specialized teaching approaches.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification. Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting. Min. 3 years of experience working in international schools. Strong knowledge of English language. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning and standardized testing preparation. Familiarity with learning technology tools. Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to manage diverse classroom environments effectively. Experience with behavior management techniques and special education accommodations is desirable.
