Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MicroStrategy Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our Big Data Team. This role is responsible for platform stability, operational controls, performance monitoring, and incident management of the MicroStrategy environment. This position does not involve development or UAT activities, but instead ensures the health, security, and availability of the MSTR platform within a Cloudera-based ecosystem. A working knowledge of Cloudera and Informatica workflows is expected to effectively coordinate with adjacent data teams.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day

MicroStrategy platform operations

, including services monitoring, job failures, caching, and security audits. Administer user roles, access provisioning, license usage, and platform permissions. Proactively monitor system health, troubleshoot platform issues, and lead

incident resolution

with minimal downtime. Coordinate with Infrastructure and DevOps teams for patching, upgrades, backup/restore, and platform scaling. Collaborate with Informatica and Cloudera teams to ensure upstream data availability and platform integration. Maintain operational dashboards, logs, audit trails, and issue documentation. Automate recurring tasks using scripts or tools (where possible). Ensure compliance with

governance, security, and data access policies

for all reporting environments (DEV, QA, PROD). Provide L2/L3 operational support for the MicroStrategy ecosystem. Support deployment coordination and scheduling with the separate MSTR Development team.

Job Requirements

5+ years

of hands-on experience managing

MicroStrategy platform operations and development

In-depth knowledge of

MSTR architecture, services, and administrative tools along with Version Control and Upgrades.

Proven track record of

platform monitoring, incident resolution

, and performance tuning.

Understanding of

Cloudera ecosystem

(Hive, HDFS, Impala) for data dependency mapping.

Familiarity with

Informatica workflows

and integration checkpoints.

Strong scripting skills for automation (Shell, Python preferred).

Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication abilities.

Experience in

enterprise-scale deployments

and managing

secure, multi-tenant environments

.

The following are plus:

Exposure to

ticketing and monitoring tools

MicroStrategy certifications in Administration or System Management.

Experience with

Linux-based environments

and basic networking concepts.

Familiarity with

cloud-hosted BI platforms

is a plus (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Education Requirements

Bachelor degree in computer science, Information technology software engineering or related field.
