Job Title: Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will ensure the security, availability, performance, and reliability of our database systems to support our business applications and data analytics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Experience in installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022 in Production, UAT, and Cluster environments.

Experience in applying service packs and cumulative updates to ensure databases are maintained at the latest patch level and remain secure and stable.

Proficient in configuring and administering high availability data solutions such as SQL Server Failover Clustering, Replication for data synchronization, and Always On Availability Groups.

Skilled in managing database backups (Full | Differential | Transaction Log) for production systems and performing database refreshes from Production to Test/Development environments.

Hands-on experience in SQL Server backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, security management, and managing backups using Veritas NetBackup tool.

Experienced in recovering crashed or suspect system and user databases.

Hands-on experience in upgrading and migrating SQL Server from versions 2012 to 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022.

Proficient with Azure SQL Database and Azure Managed Instances, including deployment, performance tuning, security configuration, automated backups, and monitoring via Azure Portal and Log Analytics.

Expert in creating SQL Server maintenance plans and SSIS packages to automate routine BOD/EOD tasks.

Well-versed in monitoring error logs, system logs, database performance metrics.

Strong experience in configuring alerts for high availability solutions such as Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, and Always On. Also, skilled in setting up routine alerts for issues like Disk alerts or TempDB file growth, high concurrent connections, and deadlock detection.

Solid hands-on experience with query and performance tuning, including preparing performance analysis reports to troubleshoot CPU, disk, and memory bottlenecks.

Strong technical background with the ability to perform business analysis and create effective documentation and technical specifications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Preferred Certifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administration certifications (MCSA, MCSE)
