Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international non-ferrous and ferrous Metal trading house covering the whole trading and supply chain process. Our client is looking to add an Operator/Traffic to their concentrates desk.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the traffic operations and logistics partners in the region
• Handle all letters of credit, Bill of Ladings, and trade finance with external counterparties
• Work to guarantee efficient day to day running of operational process to get things done in accordance with timescales
• Work with front office trading team to ensure loading, unloading and passage of non-ferrous metal products and goods and wherever else necessary
• Coordinate with ports/port authorities to confirm all contracts, paperwork and any documents are completed/accurate
• Work to resolve any operational issues that may arise as quickly as possible
• Speak to shipping companies, ship owners, docks, couriers, logistics providers and counterparties to negotiate freight rates and costs

Requirements:

• At least 4 years' experience working in an operator/operations position at a metals trading house
• Proven experience dealing with trade finance, letters of credit and trade documentation (INCOTERMS)
• Must have exposure to working for an independent metal trading house
• Competent communicating with shipping firms, companies, and logistics providers
• Sound practical knowledge of shipping/freight and logistics
• Real life experience working alongside front office trading teams as well as other departments
