Job Description

Position Overview:

A Metal Fabricator in a factory is responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal products and structures. This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating various tools and machinery, and ensuring that the final products meet quality and safety standards. Metal fabricators work with a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, to create components for industries such as construction, automotive, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication and Assembly:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the required materials and dimensions. Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal pieces using tools such as saws, shears, and press brakes. Assemble metal components using welding, bolting, riveting, or other fastening methods. Operate machinery such as CNC machines, laser cutters, and plasma cutters to fabricate metal parts. Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Identify and correct any defects or issues in the fabricated components. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on fabrication tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency. Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately. Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members, including engineers, welders, and quality control inspectors, to ensure project requirements are met. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in metal fabrication or welding is preferred. Experience: Proven experience as a metal fabricator, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Skills:


Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Skilled in using various fabrication tools and machinery. Strong attention to detail and precision. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions. Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment. Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
Work Environment:

Typically works in a factory or manufacturing setting. Exposure to noise, fumes, and heat from machinery and welding. Use of protective gear, including helmets, gloves, and safety glasses
