The MEP/Electrical Manager is responsible for the design coordination, planning, execution, quality control, and delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in the project(s). The role includes oversight of electrical systems specifically, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and timely project delivery within budget.
Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems.
Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, civil teams, and other stakeholders.
Ensure MEP services are integrated properly with the structural and architectural elements of the project.
Execution & Supervision:
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and vendors executing MEP works.
Ensure work is executed as per project specifications, approved drawings, and local codes.
Perform site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Monitor progress and resolve technical issues on-site.
Electrical System Focus:
Manage all electrical works including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, low current systems (CCTV, access control, etc.), and backup power systems.
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and regulations.
Review and approve single-line diagrams, load calculations, cable schedules, and panel board layouts.
Cost & Budget Control:
Prepare and review BOQs, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Validate and approve contractor invoices and variation claims related to MEP works.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
Plan and supervise MEP system testing, commissioning, and startup.
Ensure proper documentation, O&M manuals, and training for end users.
Facilitate smooth handover of systems post-completion.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is a must
Minimum 15-25 years of experience in MEP project management, preferably with a focus on electrical systems.
Experience in large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of local building codes, international standards (NEC, IEC, etc.), and safety regulations.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project/Primavera, and electrical design software.
