MEP Technician
Job Title: MEP Technician (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)
Reports To: MEP Manager / Chief Engineer
Summary: The MEP Technician is a skilled multi-craft professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a building's core systems. This role requires a broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles to ensure the optimal operation of facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on MEP equipment including HVAC units, electrical panels, pumps, motors, VFDs, plumbing fixtures, and building automation systems (BAS).
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This includes reading blueprints, schematics, and control wiring diagrams.
• Installation: Assist in the installation, modification, and calibration of new MEP equipment and components.
• System Monitoring: Monitor building management systems (BMS/BAS) to identify alarms, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and relevant building codes (NEC, UPC, etc.).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of work performed, parts used, and time spent. Complete work orders and inspection reports.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to complete projects and resolve complex issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical trade school or apprenticeship program is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a multi-craft or MEP role.
• Strong foundational knowledge of electrical theory (single and three-phase power, controls), mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps), and plumbing.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amp clamps, meggers, and pressure gauges.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
