MEP SUPERVISOR (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)
Job Title: MEP Supervisor
Department: Construction / MEP
Reports To: MEP Manager / Project Manager
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The MEP Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems within a project. This role ensures that complex MEP works are integrated seamlessly with civil and structural elements, and are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
System Supervision & Coordination:

• Supervise the installation of all MEP systems, including:
• Mechanical: HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Firefighting, Plumbing, Drainage, Lifts, and Escalators.
• Electrical: High/Low Voltage distribution, Lighting, Power, Earthing & Lightning Protection, Cable Management.
• Plumbing: Sanitary, Potable Water, Stormwater, and Gas systems.
• Review MEP shop drawings and coordinate with civil and architectural plans to identify and resolve clashes before construction.
• Manage the sequence of MEP works to ensure efficient workflow and integration with other trades.

Technical Guidance & Compliance:

• Provide technical direction and solutions to MEP foremen and technicians on-site.
• Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, IEC, IPC, NFPA).
• Monitor the work of subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality and schedule.

Testing & Commissioning:

• Develop and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning plans for all MEP systems.
• Witness and oversee all testing activities, such as pressure tests, duct leakage tests, electrical insulation tests, and functional performance tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing and commissioning.

Health & Safety:

• Enforce strict safety protocols, especially for high-risk activities like working at height, live electrical work, and hot works.
• Ensure Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed meticulously.
• Conduct MEP-specific toolbox talks and risk assessments.

Planning & Reporting:

• Monitor MEP progress and report against the project schedule.
• Coordinate material deliveries and manage MEP-related materials on-site.
• Prepare daily and weekly MEP progress reports for management.
• Liaise with the BMS operator/team for the integration and handover of systems.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in MEP construction, with significant supervisory experience on large-scale projects.
• Deep technical knowledge of multiple MEP systems and their integration.
• Strong understanding of international MEP codes and standards.
• Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading MEP schematics, shop drawings, and single-line diagrams.
• Experience with commissioning and handover procedures is essential.
