The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works within a contracting environment, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost planning, estimation, procurement, and commercial control related to MEP works across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for MEP works.
Review MEP drawings, specifications, and project documentation for cost and quantity take-offs.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare cost comparisons.
Prepare, review, and negotiate MEP subcontractor contracts and payment applications.
Monitor and control MEP project costs, including forecasting and reporting on cost variations.
Assist in the preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and project close-out documentation.
Work closely with the project management, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure cost efficiency and compliance.
Provide support in claims preparation, variation orders, and contract administration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an MEP QS within a contracting company.
Proven experience in commercial and residential construction projects.
Strong knowledge of cost control, BOQ preparation, and contractual procedures.
Familiarity with standard forms of contract.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., ERP)
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
