Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:

Prepare and review MEP cost estimates, budgets, and cash flows. Track and manage project costs to ensure they stay within the approved budget. Monitor variations and change orders, ensuring timely submission and approval.

Measurement and Valuation:

Take-off quantities for MEP systems (HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing, electrical). Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on drawings and specifications. Evaluate subcontractor payments and prepare interim payment applications.

Tendering and Procurement:

Assist in tender preparation and procurement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate terms and conditions.

Contract Administration:

Maintain awareness of contractual obligations and ensure compliance. Review and interpret contracts, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies. Assist in drafting contractual letters, claims, and correspondence.

Cost Reporting:

Prepare monthly commercial reports including cost-to-complete, earned value, and cash flow forecasts. Assist in final account preparation and project close-out.

Coordination:

Liaise with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and clients to resolve commercial issues. Support MEP coordination activities and attend regular site and commercial meetings.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of MEP quantity surveying experience in construction. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, materials, and market rates. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and local construction regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA). Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and quantity take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, CostX). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
