to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on construction projects. The MEP Project Manager will ensure that all MEP aspects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of managing complex MEP installations from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Compliance:
Coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical specifications.
Leadership:
Lead and manage the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Planning & Budgeting:
Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for all MEP activities.
Expenses Tracking:
Track project expenses and manage budgets to avoid overruns.
Cost Saving:
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Analysis:
Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices related to MEP works.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce adherence to safety protocols for all MEP activities on-site.
Procurement Management:
Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the site.
Vigilance:
Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
Coordination:
Foster a collaborative environment among MEP, civil, and architectural teams.
Primary Contact:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors regarding MEP matters.
Manage Integration:
Collaborate with other departments and trades to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
Compliance:
Ensure that all MEP works comply with local building codes, standards, and regulations. Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits by regulatory authorities.
Monitoring:
Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
Inspection:
Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing according to plan and quality standards.
Resolution:
Resolve technical and coordination issues that arise during the construction phase.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for MEP installations.
Reporting:
Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and challenges.
Project Planning and Coordination
: Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate the efforts of MEP engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Ensure all MEP systems are designed, installed, and function properly.
Design and Engineering
: Collaborate with architects and structural engineers to integrate MEP systems within the building design. Review designs to ensure they meet code requirements, are cost-effective, and sustainable.
Procurement and Contracting
: Manage procurement of materials and equipment required for the MEP systems. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
Quality Control
: Ensure that all MEP installations meet required standards and specifications. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to track progress and ensure quality.
Risk Management
: Identify potential risks and issues in MEP systems installation and find ways to mitigate them. Handle unexpected issues that arise during the construction process, such as design changes or delays.
Budget Management
: Monitor the budget for the MEP systems to ensure it stays on track. Control costs, review invoices, and approve payments.
Regulatory Compliance
: Ensure that all MEP systems comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals for installations.
Team Leadership
: Lead and manage MEP project teams, ensuring effective communication and performance. Provide guidance and problem-solving support to the team.
Qualifications and Experience, and Skills:
10+ years of experience in MEP Project Management, with a focus on high-rise building projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical (or a related field).
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools is an advantage
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC).
