The MEP Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for high-rise building projects. The role ensures that all MEP systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of the project on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for all MEP activities.
Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the site.
Coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical specifications.
Lead and manage the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
Foster a collaborative environment among MEP, civil, and architectural teams.
Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing according to plan and quality standards.
Resolve technical and coordination issues that arise during the construction phase.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors regarding MEP matters.
Collaborate with other departments and trades to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
Attend project meetings and provide updates on MEP progress and challenges.
Ensure that all MEP works comply with local building codes, standards, and regulations.
Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for MEP installations.
Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits by regulatory authorities.
Track project expenses and manage budgets to avoid overruns.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices related to MEP works.
Enforce adherence to safety protocols for all MEP activities on-site.
Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Maintain detailed records of project progress, including daily reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and challenges.
Qualifications and Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical (or a related field).
10+ years of experience in MEP project management, with a focus on high-rise building projects.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC).
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools is an advantage
