Job Description
An MEP engineer with a fit-out and joinery background typically has additional expertise in the construction and installation of interior finishes and millwork. Their job description may include the following responsibilities: * Collaborating with architects, interior designers, and contractors to design and specify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and millwork systems for building fit-out projects.
- Conducting site visits to assess existing building conditions and ensure that building systems and millwork installations are designed and installed to meet local codes, regulations, and standards.
- Reviewing and approving shop drawings, submittals, and other technical documents related to building systems and millwork installations.
- Calculating load requirements and determining energy efficiency for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and providing guidance on the installation and construction of millwork.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to building systems and millwork installations during construction and after completion.
- Managing and supervising installation teams, including contractors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and carpenters or joiners.
- Maintaining accurate records of all work performed, including design changes, installations, and maintenance activities for both MEP and millwork installations.
- Staying current with industry trends and best practices in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and millwork systems.
