Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting layouts, fire alarm systems, and telecommunication networks.
Design plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, sanitary, and fire suppression systems.
Perform load calculations (heating, cooling, electrical) and energy modeling to ensure efficient system operation.
Select appropriate equipment, materials, and technologies for MEP systems, considering factors like cost, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
Review architectural and structural drawings to identify potential conflicts and provide solutions.
Prepare specifications, tender documents, and contract agreements for MEP works.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for MEP aspects.
Ensure all designs and installations comply with local building codes, international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA), and industry best practices.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities.
Implement sustainable design principles and energy-efficient solutions where possible.
Provide technical support and guidance during the construction phase and after project completion.
Diagnose and resolve operational issues in existing MEP systems.
Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance plans for MEP equipment.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, feasibility studies, and technical specifications.
Maintain accurate records of design changes, construction progress, and system performance.
Create "as-built" drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
