Job Purpose:

The MEP Plumbing & Drainage Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, inspection, and coordination of plumbing and drainage systems for building and infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes/standards, authority requirements, and maintaining quality and safety throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and develop plumbing and drainage designs, layouts, and shop drawings in coordination with other MEP disciplines. Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems. Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, DM, ADDC, etc.) and international codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA, BS, ASHRAE). Supervise site execution of plumbing and drainage works, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion. Review material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues. Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of plumbing & drainage systems. Manage as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and project handover documents. Monitor project progress and report to the Project Manager/MEP Manager. Support in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and material take-offs related to plumbing & drainage scope.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 4-8 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting/consulting companies. Strong knowledge of plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and water supply systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design software. Familiarity with international standards and UAE local authority regulations. Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

Previous UAE/GCC experience with authority approvals. Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient plumbing design (LEED, Estidama). Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
