Job Description

Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical function where 80% of his/ her time allocated is spent in the field in the respective territory. The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) provides scientific expertise and builds knowledge and activity-based relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to advance medical practice and research for the benefit of society, thus enhancing Pfizer's image in the medical and scientific community across Saudi Arabia. MSL role will act as a critical interface with identified scientific leaders and will build regional, national or international relationships to contribute to the understanding of diseases, research and scientific trends, clinical practice guidelines, and treatment patterns in the relevant therapeutic areas (Vaccines).

Main Responsibilities and Duties: MSL is responsible for KOL management related to his/her own therapeutic speciality and is the medical partner for KOLs across the markets, using medical resources and capabilities to develop long-term partnerships with individual HCPs, medical universities and institutes aiming to direct Pfizer resources and initiatives for the best well-being of patients and treatment outcomes. To provide geographical focus and customer knowledge and insights, as members of the Medical and Scientific Affairs team, to the development of the in-country clinical plan and to feed into the above-country and global clinical plan. To provide medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals in response to their specific requests for Pfizer to present, orally or otherwise, clinical data about marketed products and important scientific information on new products, or those in development To liaise with healthcare professionals to effectively communicate and manage drug safety issues emanating from the region or of a national or international nature To support study and site feasibilities led by the clinical research team to ensure effective implementation of the clinical plan as well as to develop effective relationships with a strong network of local clinicians and researchers To be engaged in scientific discussions and collaborate with medical managers in strategies, tactics and educational programs. Execute Medical Awareness &; Educational programs to maximize Disease area awareness. He/she is responsible for planning and conducting local clinical studies when required through identifying opportunities for local clinical trials and/or investigators (Interventional, Epidemiological, IIRs...etc.) to generate local data and support its publications in cooperation with the internal and external stakeholders. Also, generating innovative ideas for new clinical programs and medical projects that address the unmet medical needs related to Patient outcomes. He/she is responsible for developing and implementing strategic medical directions within key therapeutic areas Develop, recruit and train local Speakers within the frame of local SOPs. Design and execute Advisory Boards for respective therapeutic areas to gain customer insights and address the unmet medical needs in Saudi Arabia. Ensure compliance with Pfizer SOPs and local regulations in all promotional/non-promotional activities and materials. Ensure adherence to compliance/company procedures & policies (SOP's)

Position Relationships: Internal (Marketing - Regulatory - Commercial - Patient Health Impact - Clinical Research -Public Affairs -Medical Information - Medical Quality &Oversight- Compliance- Legal ) External (KOLs, Speakers, Decision Makers, Local Medical Societies and MOH)

Requirements: At least two years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Medical background (MD, MBBS, MBBCH) Physician or Pharmacist. Experience in vaccines or Anti-Infective TA is a plus. Excellent and proven scientific and technical expertise. Experience in interaction at a highly scientific and technical level Communication skills, both written and verbal (including medical writing and presentation skills) and cross-functional team collaboration Analytical skills and reasoning, and sound medical judgment/decision making Interpersonal skills, internal & external networking and the ability to impact and influence others
