Job Description

Role Purpose

To oversee and manage day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services, compliance with regulatory requirements, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The role will focus on streamlining workflows, managing resources, driving quality assurance, and ensuring alignment with organizational standards in line with growth plans for the Diagnostics division.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

Lead daily operations of the diagnostic laboratory, ensuring smooth functioning across all testing areas. Develop, implement, and monitor SOPs for all operational processes. Oversee procurement, inventory, and maintenance of lab equipment, consumables, and reagents. Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure minimal downtime.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with UAE health authority regulations (DHA, MOH, CAP, ISO, etc.) and internal quality standards. Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control programs. Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of test results.

People Leadership

Lead and manage a team of lab technologists, technicians, and support staff. Drive training, performance management, and continuous development of the team. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Resource Management

Prepare and manage lab operational budgets and expenditure. Track and optimize cost efficiency while maintaining service quality. Support revenue growth by ensuring capacity utilization and process optimization.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

Ensure high levels of client and patient satisfaction through service excellence. Collaborate with the commercial/RCM teams to support new service launches and business development initiatives. Act as a liaison with clinicians, hospital partners, and external stakeholders to address queries and ensure service quality.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or equivalent (Master's preferred). Minimum 8-10 years' experience in diagnostics laboratory operations, including at least 3-5 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of diagnostic testing processes, lab automation, and quality standards (ISO 15189, CAP). Experience in UAE healthcare regulatory environment (DHA/MOH licensing). Proven track record in managing teams, budgets, and operational KPIs.
