medical and dental terminology, anatomy, physiology, healthcare documentation, and coding guidelines

Prepare structured lesson plans, presentations, assignments, quizzes, and hands-on coding exercises.
Train learners to code
real-world medical and dental cases
, including clinical notes, treatment plans, and insurance claims.
Guide students in preparation for
certification exams
(AAPC, AHIMA, AMCA, ADA/ADCA or equivalent, where applicable).
Assess student performance, maintain training records, and provide continuous academic feedback.
Stay updated with changes in
medical and dental coding guidelines, payer rules, and compliance standards
.
Maintain a professional classroom environment and ensure high-quality training delivery at all times.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Medical, Dental, Nursing, Biomedical, Allied Health, or related field
.
Certified Medical Coder (
CPC, CCS, CIC, CPB or equivalent
) preferred.
Dental Coding certification or proven experience
in dental coding (CDT) is highly desirable.
Proven experience in
medical and/or dental coding, auditing, or healthcare documentation
.
Strong knowledge of
ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, CDT, modifiers, and claims processes
.
Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with
billing software, EHR, and dental practice management systems
.
Knowledge of
insurance guidelines, revenue cycle management, and claim submission
(medical & dental).
Ability to handle
practical case studies, live coding scenarios, and exam preparation sessions
.
Strong mentoring skills with the ability to support students toward certification success.
