We are hiring an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Site Engineer (Consultancy Experience Mandatory)
to oversee the execution and coordination of mechanical systems for a major building project in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on site supervision experience, and a consultancy background in delivering complex mechanical systems.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
5+ years of experience
in mechanical systems, with a strong background in
MEP consultancy
Solid understanding of design, installation, and supervision of building mechanical systems
Proficient in
MS Word, Excel
, and
AutoCAD (basic level)
Mechanical Site Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, tender drawings, and ensure site work aligns with design documents.
Oversee on-site execution and installation of all mechanical building services including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage etc.
Coordinate closely with site teams including supervisors, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth workflow.
Monitor daily site progress and report updates to project stakeholders.
Prepare for inspections and coordinate with consultants to address comments and ensure compliance.
Submit and track RFIs, letters, and formal communications with consultants and contractors.
Perform quantity estimation and material take-offs; compare estimates with BOQ for accuracy.
Manage material procurement by coordinating with suppliers for inquiries, quotations, catalogues, and compliance certificates.
Review material comparison sheets and liaise with the procurement department to finalize orders.
Assist in preparing shop drawings and material submittals for consultant approval.
Coordinate mechanical works with main contractors and consultants for timely execution.
Attend progress and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assist in preparing O&M manuals and ensure as-built drawings reflect final installation.
Supervise testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of mechanical systems.
Perform detailed mechanical design reviews and modifications based on actual site conditions.
Conduct design calculations
Provide maintenance input and technical oversight across all mechanical systems.
Electrical Site Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Review and process all electrical technical submittals ensuring compliance with project requirement.
Oversee and support all electrical installation activities on-site, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to the latest approved construction drawings and specifications.
Act as the primary technical adviser on-site for subcontractors, technicians, and supervisors, providing clarification on design intent and installation methodology.
Interpret contract documents, construction drawings, and applicable standards before executing any on-site activity.
Verify electrical design calculations, plans, and BOQs for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with other disciplines to prevent conflicts and ensure seamless integration of services.
Monitor the allocation of resources including manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed for electrical works.
Manage site operations, supervision of subcontractors, and coordination of work schedules.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality control standards.
Identify and resolve technical issues or site challenges in coordination with the design office and PM.
Attend and contribute to internal progress and weekly client/main contractor coordination meeting.
Maintain accurate and timely site reports and escalate issues as needed.
Prepare RFIs, variation justifications and technical correspondences with consultants/contractors.
Ensure installations are carried out in accordance with local authority (ADDC, Civil Defense, etc.).
Review and approve electrical method statements and material proposals against project specs.
Submit Inspection Requests (IRs), coordinate with QA/QC teams, and support consultants.
Supervise testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems, and ensure readiness for handover.
Conduct final snagging inspections, doc. punch lists, and follow up on the timely closure of defects.
Participate in the project handover process, ensuring complete documentation and compliance with O&M and as-built requirements.
Document lessons learned to support continuous improvement across current and future projects.
