Mechanical Technician - Pumps & Cooling Towers

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on centrifugal, submersible, booster and chilled water pumps, including inspection, lubrication, and performance checks. Carry out mechanical repairs and overhauls on pumps and motors, including seals, bearings, impellers, shafts and couplings; perform dial or laser alignment as required. Inspect, clean and maintain cooling towers (fans, motors, drift eliminators, nozzles, basins, strainers, fill media) and ensure proper water flow and distribution. Monitor system performance and diagnose issues such as vibration, leakage, unusual noise, overheating and low/high flow; propose and implement corrective actions. Assist in installation, testing and commissioning of new pumps, cooling towers and associated piping, valves and controls. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, checklists, job cards and spare parts records in coordination with the supervisor or engineer. Follow all safety procedures, including lock?out/tag?out, isolation, confined?space and working?at?height rules, and ensure proper use of PPE Coordinate with Facility/Mechanical Engineers for major repairs, shutdowns and modifications, providing technical feedback from field observations.

Qualifications and skills

Diploma/Certificate (ITI or Polytechnic) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with 2-5 years' experience in pump and cooling tower/chilled water system maintenance in industrial, commercial or facilities environment. Practical knowledge of pump alignment (dial indicator or laser), bearings, seals, couplings, and rotating equipment maintenance, plus basic understanding of HVAC chilled water and cooling tower operation. Ability to read mechanical drawings and OEM manuals, strong hands?on troubleshooting skills, and a safety?focused attitude with capability to work independently or within a maintenance team.

Pay: AED2.00 - AED4.00 per month
