Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to ensure proper execution of mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, drainage, piping, etc.). Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems at site. Monitor daily site activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical/site issues. Prepare and review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings. Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations. Conduct inspections and prepare site progress reports. Manage resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, for efficient project delivery. Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and supporting procurement of mechanical materials. Verify and certify subcontractor works and progress claims. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems during construction. Support final testing, commissioning, and handover of completed mechanical works.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven experience (3-8 years typically) in mechanical engineering within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems. Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, etc.). Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office; knowledge of project management software is a plus. Strong leadership and site supervision skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
