Job Summary

The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all mechanical works in construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems. The role ensures that all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, drawings, codes, and standards, while maintaining schedule, quality, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Review project specifications, design drawings, and BOQs to identify project scope and requirements. Prepare technical submittals, material approvals, and shop drawings for consultant review and approval. Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Civil, Architectural) for site execution. Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting). Ensure compliance with project safety standards and local authority regulations (e.g., DCD, DEWA, etc.). Prepare and monitor project schedules, manpower plans, and progress reports. Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones. Participate in value engineering and design coordination meetings. Verify and certify subcontractor bills and variations. Support the Project Manager in preparing project documentation, handover files, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5-10 years of experience in MEP contracting or construction projects (preferably in UAE/GCC). Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting design and installation practices. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project/Primavera). Familiar with local authority standards and approval procedures. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
