We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience on high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate will be DEWA-approved and adept at managing the mechanical scope from design through commissioning, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Develop detailed mechanical execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to integrate all services seamlessly.
Design & Technical Review
Validate mechanical system designs (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting) for high-rise applications.
Ensure compliance with DEWA regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA).
Procurement & Vendor Management
Prepare technical submittals, RFQs, and evaluate vendor proposals.
Oversee manufacturer and supplier approvals; manage material inspections and delivery schedules.
On-Site Supervision & Quality Control
Supervise installation works, conduct regular site inspections, and ensure adherence to approved drawings.
Implement robust quality assurance checks and document non-conformances with corrective action plans.
Commissioning & Handover
Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, coordinate with testing agencies.
Compile O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and facilitate smooth handover to client/operations team.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, cost-control updates, and risk assessments.
Liaise with DEWA for approvals, load connections, and energy metering.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years' experience
on high-rise building MEP projects in the UAE.
DEWA-approved
Engineer (valid DEWA Engineer ID).
Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Project/Primavera P6.
Strong understanding of local codes: DEWA regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, ASHRAE standards.
