Mechanical Inspector (HVAC/Plumbing) (Consultancy Background)
Job Overview:
The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for the day-to-day inspection and quality assurance of all mechanical works, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, firefighting, and drainage systems in a high-rise building (G+30). You will ensure installations are per approved drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inspections of HVAC ductwork, piping, equipment (chillers, AHUs, pumps), plumbing, firefighting (sprinklers, hydrants), and drainage installations.
• Inspect and approve all mechanical material deliveries and equipment prior to installation.
• Witness pressure tests, leakage tests, air/water balancing, and other commissioning tests.
• Ensure installations allow for proper access for operation and maintenance.
• Report deficiencies, prepare snag lists, and follow up on the rectification of defective work.
• Review contractor's method statements and inspection requests (IRs).
• Coordinate with other discipline inspectors to avoid clashes and ensure integrated system installation.
• Maintain detailed records of all inspections, tests, and approved materials.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector, specifically with a consultancy firm.
• Relevant experience in high-rise buildings (G+30) is mandatory.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in tall structures.
• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP) or plumbing is an advantage.
