The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, supervising, executing, and managing mechanical works for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the UAE. The candidate must have strong experience with UAE regulations, local authority approvals (DCD, DM, ADDC, SEWA), and international engineering standards. Proven expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and mechanical building services is essential.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Engineering
Prepare and review HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and mechanical system designs.
Develop engineering drawings, heat load calculations, ESP calculations, pump head calculations, equipment sizing, and BOQs.
Ensure compliance with UAE Fire Code, Dubai Municipality standards, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other international codes.
Prepare technical submittals, method statements, material specifications, and engineering documentation.
2. Project Execution & Site Supervision
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP mechanical systems.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed as per approved drawings and specifications.
Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues, and verify quality and safety compliance.
Oversee installation of chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ductwork, piping, and fire-fighting networks.
3. Authority Liaison
Manage submissions and approvals with UAE authorities such as:
Dubai Civil Defense (DCD)
Dubai Municipality (DM)
ADCD, SEWA, ADDC, FEWA
Attend inspections for fire-fighting, HVAC, and mechanical system approvals.
4. Project Management
Prepare progress reports, project schedules, and cost estimates.
Lead technical meetings and coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, civil, structural).
Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and handle variations or design changes.
5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Oversee T&C activities for all mechanical equipment and systems.
Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, snag lists, and handover documentation.
Ensure systems meet performance and safety requirements before final sign-off.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's is an advantage).
Minimum
10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the UAE
.
Strong understanding of UAE building codes, fire safety regulations, and authority standards.
Experience in HVAC, fire-fighting, pumps, piping, water systems, and mechanical building services.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer, MS Office.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid UAE driving license
