MECHANICAL ENGINEER - HVAC Installation
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer for HVAC Installation provides technical oversight and design support for HVAC projects. This role bridges the gap between design plans and field installation, ensuring systems are built correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review mechanical drawings and specifications for constructability.
- Provide technical support and clarification to the installation foreman and crew.
- Resolve design conflicts and field coordination issues with other trades.
- Create and submit shop drawings, material submittals, and RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Assist in the selection of equipment and materials.
- Oversee system commissioning and performance testing.
- Ensure project compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC design or construction.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and HVAC design software (e.g., Revit, Carrier HAP).
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes.
