Provide technical leadership in mechanical design aspects, including Whitespace design, chiller plants, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units, and facility water systems. Develop and implement advanced cooling strategies, including hot/cold aisle containment, air, liquid, and hybrid systems. Research, evaluate, and design solutions using emerging technologies such as direct-to-chip liquid cooling and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs). Conduct and/or support Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize airflow and thermal performance, ensuring PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) targets are met or exceeded. Collaborate with Systems Engineers and sales teams to ensure technical quality in quotations, interpret customer specifications, and ensure successful project execution and handover. Produce high-quality technical documentation, specifications, and reports, ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE, OCP). Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred). A minimum of 5-10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years specifically focused on data center or mission-critical projects. Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards chartership is highly desirable. Deep technical knowledge of data center power and cooling architectures, including HVAC, chilled water systems, pumps, motors, and BMS (Building Management Systems) controls. Experience with design and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CFD tool experience highly desirable). Effective communicator and team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Fluent in English. Experience a dynamic blend of work and leisure in one of the world's most exciting cities.
