Mechanical Draftsman - Key Skills
Technical Skills
- Proficient in preparing mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems
- Ability to read and interpret IFC, shop drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of UAE authority regulations (DM, DCD, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA)
- Strong understanding of mechanical system layouts, ducting, piping, and equipment
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
- Preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material layouts
- Assisting engineers with technical documentation and submittals
- Ability to follow project standards and QA/QC procedures
- Coordinate with engineers, site teams, and other disciplines to resolve design clashes
- Communicate effectively to incorporate changes and approvals from consultants
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Revit/BIM software (preferred)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Teamwork and good communication skills
- Problem-solving and adaptability
