Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented

Mechanical Draftsman

with a strong background in

mechanical engineering

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, layouts, and 3D models for

laboratory furniture

such as workbenches, fume hoods, cabinets, and storage systems. This role involves close collaboration with our engineering, sales, and production teams to develop customized lab furniture solutions that meet client requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing feasibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate

2D and 3D technical drawings

for laboratory furniture using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Develop layout plans for laboratories based on client specifications and site dimensions. Design custom lab furniture components (worktops, sinks, frames, storage units, etc.) considering ergonomics, materials, safety, and functionality. Coordinate with the sales and project teams to understand client requirements and translate them into practical design solutions. Modify and revise drawings as per feedback from clients, engineers, or production. Ensure drawings are aligned with industry safety standards and material specifications. Create bill of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and technical documentation to support production. Maintain organized records of all design files, revisions, and related documentation. Visit project sites (if required) for measurements or design validation.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

or a related technical field. 2+ years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably in furniture, interior fit-out, or lab design industry. Proficient in CAD software such as

AutoCAD

,

SolidWorks

, or similar. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials (especially wood, metal, and laboratory-grade materials), and fabrication techniques. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and translate them into detailed manufacturing drawings. Good communication and coordination skills.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
