Job Summary:

AWS Distributions is looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to support our engineering and facilities teams by creating accurate mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and general mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting for commercial, retail, or warehouse projects and be well-versed in UAE standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD or similar software. Draft HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems based on design input and project requirements. Update and modify mechanical drawings as required throughout the design and construction process. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and site teams to ensure design accuracy and resolve any design conflicts. Prepare as-built drawings and ensure drawing documentation is organized and up to date. Ensure all drawings comply with local codes and regulatory standards (e.g., Dubai Civil Defence, DM, DCD). Conduct site visits when needed to verify dimensions and collect data.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma or certification in Mechanical Drafting or related technical field. 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman, preferably in commercial or industrial projects. Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM tools is an advantage. Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and firefighting. Familiar with UAE mechanical codes, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defence requirements. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
