Job Summary:
We are seeking a
Mechanical Draftsman
with a minimum of 3 years of GCC experience in preparing detailed mechanical drawings and BOQs for oil storage terminals and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate must have expertise in process piping, tank layouts, and mechanical structures, with excellent proficiency in AutoCAD or other 2D/3D CAD software. The candidate should also be capable of generating precise material take-offs and Bills of Quantities in coordination with project and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical drawings including piping layouts, tank fabrication, structural supports, and equipment installations.
Generate complete and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs based on approved drawings and project specifications.
Coordinate closely with design engineers and project managers to interpret technical requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
Update and revise drawings and BOQs as per design changes, site modifications, or client feedback.
Ensure that all drawings and documents comply with industry standards (ASME, API, etc.) and project requirements.
Maintain drawing registers, document control, and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
Provide technical support to procurement and site teams for quantity verification and planning.
Assist in preparing isometric, fabrication, and spool drawings for mechanical works.
Attend design reviews and project meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the GCC, preferably in the oil & gas or industrial sector.
Proven experience in preparing mechanical drawings and BOQs for piping and tank projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent drafting software.
Key Skills:
Strong drafting and 3D modeling skills for mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience in quantity take-offs and generating BOQs.
Knowledge of fabrication and installation techniques used in industrial projects.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, and API.
