Parsons is now hiring a Rail Practice Lead who can lead the technical practice area and a team of professionals considering both business development, project set-up and delivery. The position will be key in the development of execution strategies for entry into new markets, new rail proposals and bringing innovation to Parsons and the market in general. The position will support key clients in the region and make significant public impact as we grow our world class capabilities.

We need our Practice Lead to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.

What You\'ll Be Doing:

People:

Be the regional point of contact for the Rail Practice for both BD and Sectors.

Be aware (number and capability) of the staff in region that align with the Practice \xe2\x80\x93 this includes support an employee matrix mapping.

Support regional mobility of high potential staff in Practice Area.

Support the Sectors Leads in developing the strategy and the growth or contraction of that Practice in their Geography.

Support the Sector Leads in the technical development of staff within the Sectors and be a technical mentor where appropriate. (Line management of technical staff and profitability of the projects remains in Sectors).

Identify the key individual within the Practice to support external interaction for Marketing and Sales/Business Development.

Collaborate globally to share leading edge experiences across the organization and with key partner entities.

Leadership:

Responsible for the reputation management and leadership of the rail practice.

Establishes the guides the strategy for the rail practice and strong growth objectives.

Articulate the vision for the rail practice within Parsons, with key clients and across the rail community.

Be recognized as an industry thought leader, enhancing Parsons brand and reputation in rail transit engineering through direct client interface while promoting technical excellence and innovation as a service provider.

Process:

Drive design and delivery process / procedure improvement and standardization across the region.

Engage with other key practice leads such as PMC practice lead and ensure that the rail project process are aligned with Parsons\xe2\x80\x99s regional PMC process guidebook and the CS Manual.

Look at continual improvement of our processes and procedures associated with the Practice.

Ensure seamless integration of Practice processes with all elements, combined the adoption of new technology, innovation and alternative delivery approaches.

Technology and Innovation:

Leads the technical organization for the practice through the coordination of technical disciplines.

Provides leadership for technology initiatives applicable to the advancement of the practice.

Ensure that the technical teams in all geographical locations are aware of the current associated technologies.

Promote current and future technology trends within the Practice area.

Identify internal innovation and prompt the inclusion of these in daily activities for the Practice to drive continual improvements in efficiencies and profitability. Aware and prompt Parsons Technologies associated with the Practice.

Provide leadership for technology initiatives applicable to advancement of the Practice.

Travel around the Middle East region is expected in support of project start-ups and permanent relocation within the region may be required upon a designated Program Director major program assignment. This is a high-profile technical leadership position.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What required skills you\'ll bring:

4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and at least 20+ years of related work experience is required. Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as experience on large-scope rail projects.

The successful candidate shall have in-depth knowledge of the rail market, strong industry network of contacts.

Proven international, European and Middle East region experience.

Experience of multiple different firms and the ability to bring best-practice from the industry is a key element.

History of successfully building relationship, winning work and delivering to budget and schedule.

Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.

Excellent written and oral communication sills including presentations, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technologies and how they can be effectively utilized in the market.

Must be a strong leader with the ability to build consensus and work collaboratively with a team.

Excellent spoken and written English

What desired skills you\'ll bring:

Arabic language skills.

Professional registration may also be required.
