Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics, with relevant professional experience in teaching Key Stage 3 Computer Science, to join our excellent team of dedicated and student-oriented teachers. We offer the UK National Curriculum in Key Stage 3, combinations of IGCSE Mathematics, Statistics, and Further Pure Mathematics in Key Stage 4 and the International A levels in Mathematics and Further Mathematics at Key Stage 5. Experience of, and expertise in, teaching A level Mathematics would be desirable. The department has an extensive enrichment programme, with many of our students thriving in mathematics challenges with the University of Waterloo and UKMT, as well as a range of other co-curricular opportunities and house competitions for students. All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays, all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry, and all staff and students use Google Classroom.

About you

You will be an outstanding role model within the Department and within the College as a whole. With demonstrable success in your current role, you will be highly motivated and have a real passion for your subject. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including extra-curricular activities. As a Mathematics teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a full range of Mathematics classes in addition to some Key Stage 3 Computer Science classes. An inclusive and dynamic teacher, with a love of mathematics and computer science, you will enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across both departments. You must also be able to inspire and motivate our students, applying a range of teaching strategies, and help foster a lifelong love of mathematics, and provide a good foundation for success in computer science. Qualified teacher status in Mathematics and previous experience in teaching Computer Science is required. We are a British international school and all of our lessons are taught in English. A high standard of written and spoken English is, therefore, essential. As part of the selection process, longlisted candidates will be required to complete a pre-recorded micro-teach, which you will then submit to us. The recorded micro-teach should be 10 minutes in length of your continuous teaching (live in class). Further details will be provided.
