Thorough knowledge on various grades of steels including conditions of supply and other aspects related to final product delivery (surface quality, dimensional tolerances etc.), able to identify equivalent grade from various international standards.
Should be familiar with various methods of destructive testing (tensile, impact, G48, SCC, bend test) as well as basics of fracture mechanics concepts (FEA, CTOD).
Should be familiar with Clad or alloy-based materials for sour service.
Must be familiar with PED, DNV, AWS, API, ASTM and ASME codes and standards regarding materials specification/welding/coating.
Must be familiar with various welding processes used in offshore construction, such as GMAW, SMAW, SAW, TIG, etc., including automated welding systems.
Must be familiar with NACE codes.
Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.
Project management skill is an added advantage.
Education : Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferably in Metallurgy or Materials Science Training: Proficient with software such as Word, Access, Power Point, Excel, Project Experience:
Minimum 12 years relevant post graduate experience in specification/ selection and use of Materials and implementation of Corrosion Engineering, in offshore Oil, Gas, Marine Industry, Petrochemical and related industries.
Experience with Cryogenic materials
Experience in major yards in construction of offshore oil and gas projects
Experience with EPC companies
