Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically sound

Material Specification Specialist

with at least 3 years of experience in the interior fit-out industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, selecting, and specifying appropriate materials for interior fit-out projects while ensuring compliance with project requirements, sustainability standards, and aesthetic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with design and project teams to identify and specify suitable materials and finishes for interiors. Prepare and maintain detailed material specification sheets and schedules. Source materials and liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure quality, availability, and cost-effectiveness. Ensure material selections comply with project budgets, technical requirements, codes, sustainability goals, and client expectations. Review and interpret drawings, design intent, and BOQs to align material specifications accordingly. Coordinate with procurement and estimation teams for material submittals and approvals. Stay updated on new materials, innovations, and interior trends in the industry. Support quality assurance by verifying material compliance during the execution phase. Maintain an organized library of material samples and technical data sheets.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in material specification within the interior fit-out industry. Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and product standards used in high-end interiors (e.g., flooring, wall finishes, furniture, joinery, etc.). Familiarity with sustainability standards and LEED/WELL certification materials (preferred). Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and specification software/tools (e.g., SpecLink, Revit, or similar). Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of aesthetics and technical understanding.

Preferred Qualities:

Experience working with corporate fit-out projects, luxury, or hospitality. Vendor network and exposure to international materials and brands. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
