We design, manufacture, assemble and integrate components for gravity-release guided systems, missiles and loitering munitions.
Role Purpose:
The Materials Engineer shall be responsible for assisting project development teams with materials related advice, guidance, recommendations, development and testing, focusing on non-metallic materials. It will lead to preparing technical reports of high quality and clarity, with findings and expert recommendations. It will also include materials related research and development where required, for any / all project teams in Halcon as well as across EDGE group.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in engineering development teams and provide expert inputs on the selection of materials, the processing and applications of such materials
• Liaise with technical customers / project teams to determine their materials testing requirements and give advice.
• Providing wide scope of materials testing services to all companies under the Group.
• Lead / participate in materials related R&D projects as and where required.
• Optimize existing materials manufacturing processes and technical capabilities through evaluation and recommendations, using sound scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles.
• Monitor and advise on quality standards in manufacturing and finishing of parts and components.
• Liaise with Technical teams in order to expand Halcon internal digital materials database.
• Advise on product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products.
• Ensure that all projects and tasks are documented in accordance with engineering standards and configuration Dept.
• Ensure that all projects and tasks are in accordance with procedures for HSE.
• Compile thorough and accurate documents, manuals, materials investigations and technical reports on testing procedures and test results to both internal and external stakeholders
• Consult with third parties like external materials suppliers, materials manufacturing companies, etc. to leverage their specialized skills and partnerships wherever required.
• Contributes to the development of new projects and grants by conducting literature searches and experimental and applications research.
• Always, strictly adhering to safety standards and protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.

Main Requirements:

• 5+ years working in Materials Engineering, with a good experience in the development, processing and testing of materials.
• Bachelors' degree in Metallurgical Engineering / Materials Science / Manufacturing Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering subject.
• Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering.
