Position Overview

BG Group is looking for a dedicated Material Engineer to manage procurement and supplier coordination for our luxury villa and high-end landscaping projects. The role requires a strong presence in the market, engaging directly with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to secure the right materials at the right time. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating, sourcing, and approving materials while ensuring compliance with project standards and international codes.

Responsibilities:

Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to review, approve, and procure construction and finishing materials. Evaluate material quality, verify samples, and ensure compliance with specifications and international standards. Conduct supplier visits, factory inspections, and market research to identify new products and alternative solutions. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality. Coordinate material procurement and deliveries in alignment with project timelines. Monitor vendor performance and resolve material-related challenges in collaboration with external stakeholders. Provide regular feedback to procurement and project teams on market trends, supplier capacity, and availability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in procurement-driven material engineering roles in the UAE, preferably in luxury villa or high-end residential projects. Strong knowledge of construction and finishing materials, including landscaping. Proven track record in vendor management, negotiation, and procurement. Excellent coordination and communication skills for dealing with external parties. UAE driving license with readiness to attend supplier, factory, and project site meetings.
