Job Description

We are seeking a skilled

Material Engineer

with at least

2 years of experience in interior fit-out projects

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and approving materials to ensure they meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. Only candidates with

direct experience in fit-out projects

will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate material submittals and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Assist in sourcing, inspecting, and testing materials used in interior fit-out (wood, metals, glass, gypsum, etc.). Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams for timely availability and approval of materials. Review and maintain Material Approval Schedules (MAS) and ensure documentation is up to date. Provide technical support for resolving material-related site issues. Conduct market research on new materials, innovations, and suppliers suitable for interior fit-out projects. Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for material approval and compliance. Ensure sustainability and fire-rating compliance where applicable (LEED, local building codes, etc.). Prepare and maintain material inspection reports and tracking logs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum

2 years of experience in fit-out projects

(residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail). Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials and finishes. Familiarity with quality standards, regulatory codes, and industry best practices. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM/Revit is a plus. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Candidates without fit-out project experience will

not

be considered.

Preferred:

Experience working with consultants, contractors, and project management teams. Knowledge of sustainable and fire-rated materials. Familiarity with UAE/GCC regulations (customizable per location).
