The Material Engineer is responsible for evaluating and ensuring the quality, suitability, and compliance of construction materials used in road infrastructure projects. This includes conducting material testing, coordinating with suppliers and laboratories, and ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
:
Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, and supplier certifications.
Conduct inspections and testing of construction materials (e.g., asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soil, geotextiles).
Ensure all materials used comply with project specifications, applicable standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, etc.), and government regulations.
Collaborate with design and construction teams to select appropriate materials based on environmental and project-specific factors.
Coordinate with third-party laboratories for sampling and testing.
Maintain material records, test reports, and certifications for audit and QA/QC purposes.
Investigate and report material failures or non-conformities; recommend corrective actions.
Conduct field and laboratory tests for compaction, density, moisture content, and strength parameters.
Support procurement by evaluating technical bids and vendor qualifications.
Attend site meetings and inspections with consultants, clients, and authorities.
Ensure implementation of proper material handling, storage, and traceability procedures on-site.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Material Engineer in road/highway infrastructure projects

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED16,000.00 per month
