Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

Materials Engineer

to join our infrastructure project team in

Dubai

, focusing on

bridge construction

. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction materials meet the specified engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. The role demands strong technical knowledge of civil construction materials, particularly those used in bridge works, and familiarity with UAE local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and approve material submittals, specifications, and samples related to bridge construction. Ensure all materials comply with the project's design specifications, codes, and applicable standards (AASHTO, ASTM, BS, and UAE regulations). Conduct laboratory and on-site testing of construction materials including concrete, steel, asphalt, aggregates, etc. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials. Monitor material performance and advise on appropriate materials for different construction phases. Prepare and maintain detailed reports and records of materials used, test results, and compliance certificates. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and site teams to resolve material-related issues. Conduct root-cause analysis of material failures and propose corrective actions. Assist in the development of quality control plans and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. Minimum of

7 years' experience

in materials engineering, with at least

3 years focused on bridge construction

. Proven experience on

large-scale infrastructure projects

, preferably within the

UAE or GCC

region. Familiarity with local Dubai Municipality regulations, RTA standards, and international engineering codes. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and in a fast-paced project environment. Certification from relevant authorities (e.g., ISO, QA/QC, RTA approved) is a plus.
