We are seeking a qualified and experienced

Materials Engineer

to join our infrastructure team for a major

bridge construction project

in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all materials used on the project meet regulatory, contractual, and safety standards, and will play a key role in quality control, testing, and compliance for construction materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate, test, and approve construction materials including concrete, steel, asphalt, geotextiles, aggregates, and coatings. Review material submittals from contractors and ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.). Monitor and inspect material storage, handling, and installation procedures on-site. Coordinate with laboratories to conduct material tests and analyze test results for structural and durability performance. Maintain up-to-date material records, certifications, and test reports. Ensure all materials meet the Dubai Municipality (DM), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and other applicable UAE standards. Support procurement by verifying supplier quality certifications and performance history. Participate in site inspections and audits related to material usage and quality control. Collaborate with structural and geotechnical engineers to ensure proper material selection and application. Provide technical support to construction teams regarding material issues and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Materials Engineer on infrastructure projects, with at least 2 years on bridge or highway projects. Strong knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures. Familiarity with UAE and international construction standards and specifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in report writing and documentation. Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
