Material Engineer - AECOM - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
Material Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials used on infrastructure and utilities projects in Dubai comply with approved specifications, authority requirements, and quality standards throughout construction and supervision stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor proposed materials and construction methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer
• Prepare and maintain the Material Engineer daily diary and site records
• Provide general oversight of contractor daily activities, work assignments, and on-site performance
• Attend factory visits and supplier plant inspections when required
• Follow up on testing, approvals, and certifications from relevant authorities
• Review contractor testing requests and evaluate completed laboratory and field test reports
• Review and approve contractor submissions related to materials and quality control
• Monitor material deliveries and verify accuracy and compliance of materials used on site
• Coordinate with contractor supervisory staff on work sequence, schedule, and construction methods
• Monitor compliance with approved construction schedules
• Conduct continuous field inspections of works in progress
• Coordinate with Resident Engineer and contractor supervision teams to resolve quality and compliance issues
• Prepare written and verbal reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual, procedural, and quality matters

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university
• Mandatory approval from Dubai Central Laboratory
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design, construction, and supervision of water pipelines, sewerage, rising mains, and pumping stations
• Strong knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in Dubai
• Extensive experience in quality inspections and materials testing
• Practical working knowledge of ISO9000 quality management systems
• Strong reporting, coordination, and site supervision skills
