Position Overview
The Material Engineer role in Dubai is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and performance of materials used across complex infrastructure and construction projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Inspect delivered, stored, and installed materials to verify conformity with project documentation
  • Ensure executed works align with approved designs and material submittals
  • Enforce compliance with project quality plans and applicable standards for all parties on site
  • Issue, track, and close non-conformance reports and corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate closely with contractor and PMC teams on site quality matters
  • Review method statements, inspection and test plans, and material approvals
  • Participate in inspections, punch lists, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Prepare weekly and ad hoc quality reports highlighting progress, risks, and trends
  • Supervise materials related to landscape, roads, sewerage, water, irrigation, and stormwater works
  • Maintain records of material tests, executed works, and contractor resources
  • Support resident engineering teams with site inspections, measurements, and compliance checks
  • Liaise with clients during inspections and resolve site issues promptly
  • Monitor commissioning and handover milestones and maintain quality documentation
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in material engineering on infrastructure and construction projects
  • Mandatory DCL experience
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, testing methods, and quality control procedures
  • Familiarity with UAE construction standards, specifications, and approval processes
  • Experience with international standards and best practices
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural site environment
  • Willingness to travel within the UAE for site inspections
