The

Material Engineer

is responsible for selecting, testing, and managing construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. This role involves evaluating material performance, overseeing quality control, and coordinating with suppliers and contractors to optimize material use and maintain smooth project workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review project specifications and select appropriate materials, conducting performance tests to ensure they meet quality standards and project needs. Perform regular quality checks on materials during procurement, delivery, and on-site use to confirm compliance with design and safety specifications. Liaise with suppliers to source materials, negotiate prices, and manage delivery schedules, ensuring timely availability. Conduct laboratory and field tests on materials, documenting results and analyzing material properties for suitability in construction applications. Provide on-site technical support, advising on material handling, storage, and usage to minimize waste and ensure quality standards are met. Maintain records of material specifications, test results, and compliance with Abu Dhabi's regulatory standards. Identify and resolve material-related issues during construction, recommending alternative materials or solutions as necessary. Having schedule of delivery material to order on time and as per project specification. Locate the long lead items, especially over order to be prepared in advance to avoid delay of delivery material.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in material engineering, preferably within construction projects in the UAE. Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and industry standards. Familiarity with material testing equipment and relevant software. Familiarity with local market Valid UAE driving license preferred.

Strong analytical skills for testing and evaluating material properties. Effective communication and coordination with project teams. Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
