We are now looking for Material & Corrosion Engineer to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Reports To
Material and Corrosion engineer reports to Head of Discipline - Process Job Overview: The Material and Corrosion engineer is responsible for independently handling various Select, Define and Execute projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas. In your role you are expected to demonstrate your proven track record in maintaining proper resourcing in terms of capacity and competence as well as in organizing projects with proper work sharing, tracking of progress & coordination with Inter disciplines and counter parts/client. You should have a desire to work on multi-disciplinary local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by leading assigned tasks. Hunger for learning and sharing new ideas will be the cornerstone of your success. We also value people for whom safety are part of their professional skills. Responsibility and Duties:
  • Executes material selection and corrosion control design activities, providing technical support to engineering disciplines
  • Materials selection and technical advice for projects
  • Prediction, modelling and mitigation of materials degradation
  • Corrosion mitigation (inhibition, cathodic protection (CP), corrosion under insulation (CUI) etc.
  • Conduct material selection as required for new or existing assets as per project scope.
  • Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
  • Delivery of the Material selection and corrosion engineering scope for assigned projects, ensuring all quality requirements
  • To be fully familiar and up to date with latest and Industry standards and ensure compliance of projects design with these latest standards.
Qualification:
  • A minimum of 10-12 years relevant offshore / onshore experience in materials and corrosion engineering in Oil & Gas Industry with an Oil & Gas Company or Consultant/Contractor.
  • Fully familiar with material selection, evaluating corrosion control strategies in an offshore / onshore sour gas environment.
  • Fully familiar with international design codes, standards and Company standards and procedure and design software packages.
  • Strong technical, planning, communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Previous experiences executing Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Chemical Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design/Basic Engineering & FEED / Detailed Engineering
  • Engineering degree in Chemical is preferred with Process engineering background.
  • Good communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Has strong desire to be at the forefront of the oil and gas sector and deliver outstanding projects
  • Possess sound technical knowledge and decision-making skills to deliver challenging projects
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and company objectives
  • Experience of brownfield modifications
  • Good cross functional knowledge
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Middle East experience is added value.
  • Fluent in English language
