Material Controller
Job Description
Control and monitor all project materials including bulk materials, piping, valves, structural steel, electrical and instrumentation items
Ensure materials are available at site as per construction priorities and project schedule
Maintain accurate inventory records in systems.
Track material receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
Prevent material shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence
Coordinate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Construction, Planning, QA/QC, and Logistics teams.
Support material requirement planning based on drawings and construction schedules.
Liaise with subcontractors for material allocation and control.
Participate in weekly material status and coordination meetings.
Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists
Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and release
Ensure proper storage, preservation, and identification of materials as per project and vendor requirements
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly material status reports
Assist in material reconciliation and close-out at project completion
Promote safe material handling and storage practices
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field Minimum 5-10 years experience in material control for Oil & Gas projects Previous experience in Ras Laffan or QatarEnergy projects is highly preferred Knowledge of LNG project requirements is an advantage.
