Overview

+ + The Material Analyst will be responsible for gathering, managing and analyzing data associated with Material and Asset Management activities in addition to possessing an advanced level of proficiency in Maximo and other Microsoft Office Suite applications that will enable detailed analysis of workflow, reservations, and cost tracking. The analyst will develop, update, and deliver training based upon current operating systems. The candidate must be self-motivated and multi-task oriented with an innate ability to provide guidance and training to end users in relations to Maximo data entry, reports and interdepartmental workflow processes. Must be an SME in activities related to Warehouse Management activities such as Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing, Requisitions, Inventory Management, Asset Management, Work Order Management and Preventive Maintenance operations. Candidate must be knowledgeable of and possess a full understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements along with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements. Candidate must be able to apply requirements to current business processes.

Responsibilities

+ Reviewing Work Instructions, streamlining processes and initiating and implementing continuous improvement process activities.

+ Reviewing current end user security groups and work with Systems Administrators to redevelop security groups that are directly related to end user specific job functions.

+ Responsible for screening Item Master Data related information located in the Item Master.

+ Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure successful delivery.

+ Maximize inventory efficiency and reconcile inventory discrepancy when needed.

+ Identify, develop, improve, implement, and enhance the utilization of WMS modules by the site-user population for optimum effectiveness.

+ Conduct internal department audits and report findings to the Director Material Manager.

+ Create plans, forecasts and schedules relating to materials required to meet operational requirements

+ Undertake detailed and comprehensive analysis on material costs and identify opportunities for bulk discounts or cost savings from suppliers

+ Review ways to save money and maintain consistency in material quality

+ Monitor variances and recommend process improvements

+ Participate in regular planning reviews and prepare data in line with changes

+ Review data integrity for the Bill of Materials (BOM), evaluate usage and cost of materials in relation to actual build

+ Monitor inventory levels and trends against agreed target levels

+ Conduct routine inventory control audits and support inventory checks to validate accuracy

+ Create inventory reports and updates for the Director Material Management

+ Issue and maintain performance metrics to Monitor and optimize stockage levels

+ Work with Material Planner to resolve issues, identify and forecast demands for products

+ Utilize knowledge and research methods to benchmark materials planning activities and to drive best practice results

+ Work towards and support a culture of continuous improvement. Work to make business and department improvements wherever possible

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications

+ Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Material Management or related field is required

+ Four (4) years' of additional experience can be substituted for a degree

+ Five (5) years' of experience in Material Management

+ Maximo Functional knowledge is required

+ Green or Black Belt Six Sigma Certification preferred

+ Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal

+ Skills

+ High level understanding of business practices and accounting principles.

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

+ Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.

+ Ability to perform functional and technical roles based on project needs.

+ Ability to work in a fast passed, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

+ Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to assemble and present information clearly.

+ Ability to balance multiple priorities successfully.

+ Supervisory/Budget Responsibilities

+ Has a significant impact on the health and efficiency of a multimillion dollar inventory. Analyst will ensure that the charge codes that impact on financial data are properly loaded.

+ Working Environment

+ Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment. However, duties also involve going into an out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will on occasion involve stooping; prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting. Working in a military environment brings the potential for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas, but not on a daily basis. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules
