A Master Mechanic - Vehicle is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and other transportation equipment. They ensure vehicles are in safe working order and meet all operational standards. Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and Repair :
• Use advanced diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and other vehicle-related issues.
• Repair and replace parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Perform major repairs and rebuilds on vehicle components and systems.
• Maintenance :
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and fluid replacements.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and ensure they meet legal and industry standards.
• Testing and Troubleshooting :
• Test drive vehicles to identify performance issues and ensure proper functioning after repairs.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems to provide effective solutions.
• Customer Service :
• Interact with customers to explain vehicle issues, repair options, and maintenance schedules.
• Provide advice on how to maintain the vehicle for optimal performance and longevity.
• Supervision and Mentoring :
• Supervise and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices, providing guidance and training.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in working order.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping :
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance services, parts used, and labor hours.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Parts and Inventory Management :
• Order and manage parts inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary components for repairs.
• Ensure the correct parts are used in vehicle repairs.

Qualifications:

• Education : High school diploma or GED required; formal education or certification in automotive technology is highly preferred.
• Experience : Several years of experience as an automotive mechanic, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems.
• Certifications : ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Skills :
• Advanced knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

Working Conditions:

• Physical Demands : Requires physical stamina and dexterity to work in a variety of conditions, including bending, lifting, and working with heavy equipment.
• Work Environment : Typically works in an auto repair shop, dealership, or service center with exposure to noise, chemicals, and mechanical equipment.
