What you'll do
You'll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

• You will be responsible to Install, repair, and maintain high-end marble, granite, ceramic, and porcelain tile finishes in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facility to ensure an attractive and well-maintained facility.
• Apply appropriate masonry techniques for surface preparation, cutting, shaping, grouting, leveling, sealing, and polishing stone and tile materials.
• Execute precision tile layout and alignment, ensuring seamless transitions and visually appealing finishes that meet luxury design standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact guest experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; properly care for tools, equipment, and materials.
• You'll also maintain engineering area, clean and in an orderly manner.
• Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation.
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager.

• You will comply with the departmental/corporate SOP & LSOP. Will ensure implementation of Dorchester Collection Policies, Standards and Procedures in relation to Engineering fairly and consistently.
• Will be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe working environment for self and for others.

What you'll bring

• You'll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team.
• Proven experience in marble and tile installation and repair, preferably in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-end residential/commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of stone masonry techniques, surface preparation, material compatibility, and finishing methods.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of natural stones and ceramic tile types, understanding their properties and maintenance needs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tile layout plans, and specifications.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift, carry, kneel, and work on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Certification or diploma in tile/masonry, construction, or a related trade.
• Experience in restoring antique or heritage marble finishes is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of eco-friendly materials and sustainable installation practices.
• Familiarity with other trades (e.g., waterproofing, carpentry, painting) is a plus.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
• English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
