A prominent financial services institution is looking to hire a Market Surveillance Officer in their growing team in Abu Dhabi.
About the Market Surveillance Officer role:
You will be responsible in aiding in the creation, implementation, and operation of the Group\'s regulatory monitoring and surveillance program. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and other important stakeholders to execute the compliance monitoring and surveillance program, delivering consistent assurance to the Board, and Risk Committees regarding the company\'s adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing, enhancing, and continuously improving the monitoring and surveillance program that captures regulatory conduct, prudential, organisational, and financial crime risks.
Ensure timely execution of the monitoring and surveillance program, including conducting relevant tests in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct risk-based desk and thematic reviews to provide independent recommendations to business heads and design effective controls in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Undertake trade surveillance monitoring to identify suspicious activities and review transactions for compliance with anti-money laundering laws.
Prepare accurate and up-to-date reports related to compliance, maintain records of monitoring activities, and recommend enhancements to existing processes while developing new processes for identifying and monitoring regulatory risk.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance/Legal or related field
Minimum 6 years of market surveillance experience
Experience monitoring trading activities to identify potential market abuse, manipulation, and insider trading
Knowledge of derivatives and cryptocurrency trading is a plus
